Design Technology

We used all of our minibeast research to help us make decisions when constructing a minibeast home.

Research

Today during our literacy we researched mini beasts of personal interest.

Positional Language

We are learning to use positional vocabulary including turns....

Tomorrow's trip

Don't panic, not everyone is going!

If you are one of the 15 chosen from each class for the trip tomorrow- you need to be at school at 8:25 to be registered before it leaves.

Thank you

Mrs Young and Miss Ridout

Directions.

Today we have been directing eachother around our outside area. We have been using turns, forward, backwards, left and right. Well done Lime Class

Post from afar.

Exciting post for Lime Class today! Thank you, James.

Look out for this face at the next Olympics

Well done to a member of our class for her silver medal in Gymnastics. We are very proud of you.

Maths is making us dizzy!

Today we are looking at turns. Quarter half and three quarter turns....

Cricket

Today we had a game of cricket topractise all of the skills we have learnt this term. Well done, Lime!

Phonics

As you are aware, Year 1 will be doing a Phonics Screening Check next term. By the end of this week, your child will be sent home with some words to practice with- they contain the graphemes (ways phonemes (units of sounds) are written). Please practice these- write them on post its and hide them around the house, cut out the cards and sort them into real and made up words. Read them and then write sentences  using the real words. Add sound buttons to them and just have lots of fun. This is just so the children have a little practice and can blend at home.

The real ones we make as fun as possible and they really enjoy it so don't worry- this is just so they can do a little as and when they like.

Thank you for your continued support!
